Financial Information

Residents of Ontario

Residents of Ontario who have a valid OHIP card are required to pay daily accommodation fees to access the specialized elective programs at the Homewood Health Centre. These fees are often covered through your employer medical insurance plans or disability insurer. Your insurance may cover some or all of the costs.

If you pay for some or all of your accommodation fees, you may be able to claim these as eligible medical expenses on your federal and provincial tax return. Please refer to federal and provincial medical expense guidelines for more information.

Contact our intake team who will be pleased to work with you to help you understand all the options available, and contact your insurance provider to determine your coverage, where applicable.

Non-Ontario Residents (or those without a valid OHIP card)

Individuals from outside of Ontario or those who do not have a valid OHIP card, may also have coverage through their employer or disability insurer. In addition, there may be additional funding options including your provincial Ministry of Health, workers compensation board and other third-party funding options. We also accept health identification cards from Veterans Affairs Canada and Royal Canadian Mounted Police.

In Canada, you may be able to claim any unreimbursed medical expenses on your federal and provincial tax return. Please refer to federal and provincial medical expense guidelines for more information.
